Extra Virgin Olive Oil & Balsamic Vinaigrette

There are so many variations of the classic balsamic vinaigrette, but we will start with a basic recipe. We will also share some ideas on how to add various ingredients to spice things up a little. Recipe makes 1 cup.

Ingredients for Basic Recipe 

3/4 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil  (use your best quality and, yes, you will be able to taste the difference!)

1/4 cup Balsamic Vinegar

1/4 tsp sea salt (or to taste)

1/4 tsp fresh ground pepper (or to taste)

Directions

Pour the balsamic vinegar into a bowl. Slowly add the olive oil and whisk together to blend. Add the salt and pepper and whisk until ingredients are combined. Taste and add more salt and pepper if desired.

Tasty Additions

Add one ingredient or add them all! You can’t go wrong. You will only build upon the basic recipe by adding more flavors and create your own unique vinaigrette.

1 tsp Dijon mustard (or to taste)

1-2 garlic cloves, finely chopped

1 tbsp finely chopped shallot

Dash of cayenne pepper (if you want to kick it up a notch!)

*To reduce risk of foodborne illness, storing is not recommended. Reduce recipe if 1 cup is not needed.
